Sledding at Soldiers Hollow
Better late then never, is what they say. So here it is. We got some really cheap tickets from Group on to go to Soldiers Hollow to sled and it was worth every penny. The two older kiddos loved it so much that they couldn't wait to get back up to the top of the hill. After the first run Sydney was done. But we kept going, and by the end she was screaming because she wanted to stay. The hills were extremely fast, and at one point I thought while going I was going down, if we crashed this will hurt REALLY REALLY BAD!!  But for the most part, I think it was pretty safe. The only complaint.....it was FREEZING cold. The things we do for fun though!!  Next year I will be investing in some better boots.

Utah is a very beautiful state. The last 2 summers have been spent here, and it has been very enjoyable. There is no better way to explore this beautiful state then to go on hikes.... so we decided to make it a goal of ours to go on a couple of hikes a month with the kids. As of right now, we have gone to battle creek, and Silver Lake. The kids did really well on both. Battle creek was pretty short but the view was spectacular and fun. There was a beautiful water fall at the end of the hike, and the kids played in it and the river. There was actually people Repelling down the front of the water fall. Silver Lake took 4 hrs round trip. We were all very tired after and very burned ( next time I'll remember that sunblock is a little more important then bug spray....). I was very impressed with how awesome the kids did on this hike, especially miss Sydney.  Blake and I are wanting to take a overnight camping trip there just the two of us, but we will see if we actually get around to it.

Olivia, Mason, Sydney, Grant, and Jax

We went with some friends. They all had fun!

At the top of Battle Creek.

Lower Silver Lake below, or also Silver Lake Flats. We actually started our hike down there. We attempted fishing and after about 1hr, we gave up and went for our hike.

Upper Silver Lake, or just Silver Lake. It was supposedly 2.2 miles there and 2.2 miles back, but it seemed much much longer!  Definitely worth the effort though!

We forgot swim suits....Olivia was nervous about showing of her little girl boobs so she kept her shirt, and regretted that after we were done swimming.

The lake was beautiful and clear!

This year we went to Strawberry days. It is the Pleasant Grove's annual city celebration. There was a parade, rodeo, and we also took the kids to Huck Finn days, where they also had a pet show. We thought the pet show would be more like a pet show, but it was really just bring your pet and let people look at your dog while you walk around doing their activities. It was fun, and the kids had fun too. At the rodeo we got the traditional, strawberries and cream, and it was delish! I love the summer and all the kids activities that are available.

Climbing the wall. Grant climbed to the top but then got nervous when it came time to climb down, he eventually figured it out!
This was actually at Cedar Hills Days. We went and watched a movie Puss and Boots in the park, and before the movie there was a bunch of carnival rides and attractions that we did before. It was fun!!

Olivia on the other hand didn't go too high because she was nervous.

At the Strawberry Days rodeo!

HMMMM Strawberries and Cream!!

We're pretty cute!

Miss Olivia and her autographed photo of the rodeo queen. They all got one, but I think she was most excited about it!

Miss Sydney cheering during the motorcycle part of the show.

Grant loved the motorcycles also.

We have missed the summers out west. We  LOVE SNOW CONES!!!

This funny little girl begged and begged to go on this ride, and this is the look she gave the whole ride. For wanting to go so badly she doesn't look like she is having much fun.

Gladiator dog and Tea cup yorkie. What a cute pair. Harley actually put this dog in it's place, and then she ran away with her tail between her legs.  HAHAHA

More snow cones?!!!!

Face painting at the Huck finn day!

A couple of months ago we decided to take Sydney's training wheels off her bike. We had been inspired by a girl in our neighborhood who had taught their little sister to ride her bike and she was only 4! So Olivia thought: "I want to teach Sydney to ride her bike too!!" We had wanted to get her a balance bike, but just never got around to it. So this was the next best thing. We noticed a couple of days ago how well she was starting to balance on her bike even with the peddles in the way. So yesterday, my sweet baby girl just 3 days before her 4th birthday has learned to ride her bike!!!  It is soo cute! Could not be more proud. Life is full of mile stones and she has just crossed another one, how fun!!!
