Swimming

Pretty much the only thing we did this summer.....was  A LOT of SWIMMING!!! We have a membership to American Fork Rec and that is where most of the summer was spent, that and
chick-fil-a, but that is a different story. We took friends a few times, and sometimes we would have a little picnic, but we were there nearly every day.

Getting ready to go off diving board!

First day of school

I can not believe another year has already gone by....how the time flies. I keep thinking that Olivia is in 2nd grade and Grant is in 1st....but SADLY they are in 3rd and 2nd. The kids were actually dreading going back to school, but we set their alarms last night and heard them go off this morning and when we came out it was a pleasure to see how excited and happy they were. They were pumped and ready to learn. A little nervous that 3rd and 2nd grade were going to be hard, but we reassured them that they already learned stuff to help them get to that point. I am excited to finally get back into a routine and not feel like such a bad parent for letting them stay up so late anymore.

YAY for School!!!!

Heading to the bus stop. *cry*
And Sydney is off for her last yr of preschool. Getting so big!

Cowabunga

Blake's dad had a work party at Cowabunga, and we were INVITED!!!!! YAY! The kids had fun. There was free food, and opportunities to win free stuff. Sydney won a towel and Olivia won a free kids lunch to chili's! If we are here next summer, I may just convince Blake to get a season pass...it was that fun!!

The water was perfect temperature, and then you got out and it was freezing.

The kids favorite part, the LAZY river.

Getting her dance on by the DJ table.....oh and did I mention FREE ICE CREAM!!!!!

Camping at Granite Flats

We finally fit in our camping trip the week before school started. There is a nice little camping ground called Granite Flats just up the American Fork Canyon. It was only about 20 minutes away from home....awesome right?!!! We have been waiting to find out any news on when Blake would be starting his new job, but we finally just had to pick somewhere close and easy. We are still holding out for the big camping trip to Yellowstone.....hopefully very soon!!  But the kids had a lot of fun, and we got to do some fishing. I even caught a fish....it got away before we were able to take a picture....but seriously, I did!! The lake that is right there was extremely depleted from the dry weather and fires, but it was still pretty fun. The kids did a little swimming and we saw a lot of wild life.
Here are some of my favorite photos from our trip.

We knew we chose a good place to camp when we pulled into the campground there was deer all over the place.

Mama and her babies, the other one was photo shy.

Blake hard at work setting up camp.

Miss Sydney striking a pose. I guess it's her way of dealing with me constantly taking photos.

Took a little hike, to a pretty gross pond.

Came back to the campsite to this little guy sneaking into our food. The next day we put our food in the tent while we went to the lake, and we  came back and all of our Chips Ahoys were gone, we were like what the heck, the package didn't look opened, and then we found the hamburger buns completely shredded and mostly unsalvageable. When I went to take a nap the same day, one of these little guys snuck in to the tent looking for more goodies. Apparently squirrels can open tents....who knew?!

Right beside our camp was a nice little stream. Gave the kids something to do, and a nice outdoors sound. We had the best campsite for the area. We had to walk in about a 100 yards or so, but definitely worth the trip.

Right beside our camp site, literally ft.

This girl can not keep her face clean, especially while camping. This was about 2 hrs into our adventure, it's amazing how fast they get dirty.

Getting our Tinfoil dinner on!

I LOVE this photo!

Some good eats.

"AND THEN"...... we had some good camping stories around the fire. Most of the stories included Harley fighting off Bigfoot.

Eggs, pancakes, and hash browns for breakfast....YUM!!!

The only picture of me.....and I'm cleaning. HA

Took a little drive up to Silver lake Flats. Lake was pretty barren.

Little family of ducks came by to say hello, and when we didn't offer food, they left.

Olivia caught her self an adorable bunny, that she had a hard time parting with when the time came. Hopefully the mother will take it back after it's been touched by a human, or maybe wild bunnies are different?
